About Jon

When Jon Sievert moved to San Francisco, he immediately began photographing the still flourishing music scene that was born out of the counterculture of the Haight Ashbury.

In 1972 he began a 25+ year relationship with Guitar Player, Frets and Keyboard Magazines as both a writer and photographer. His images have graced numerous magazine covers and have appeared on inside magazine pages thousands of times.

Jon’s work has a timeless quality that still delivers an intimate look at these legendary artists early in their careers. His affinity for folk, blues, and bluegrass music has left us with an incredible document of those genres during a simpler time.
